Phylogeography of the scorpion M. сaucasicus (Nordmann 1840) within the range of the genus Mesobuthus (Vachon 1950) (Scorpiones: Buthidae)

Currently, new habitats of scorpions of the genus Mesobuthus have been established on the territory of the republics of Armenia and Dagestan. The aim of the study was to determine the phylogenetic position of scorpions inhabiting the territories of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Dagestan. This study contributes to the development of ideas about the zoogeographic distribution of the scorpion fauna in the Palaearctic.

Obtaining viable Azospirillum brasilense SR80 cells encapsulated in alginate hydrogel

Significant researches aimed at the greening of agro-industrial production are focused on obtaining immobilized bacterial preparations with preserved proliferative function and metabolic activity. Herein, we investigated the possibility of bacteria of the genus Azospirillum to be immobilized in Ca-alginate beads. A. brasilense SR80 cells, encapsulated in an alginate hydrogel, were obtained using the “soft” immobilization method based on physical binding.

The use of games as a method in teaching the basics of chemical toxicology as part of the ecological education of schoolchildren

In today’s modern technogenic world, forming an ecological consciousness, perception and thinking among schoolchildren is a vital task. Knowledge of chemical toxicology is essential for students of all ages to help protect and maintain a healthy environment. Given that toxicology is characterized by an increased level of complexity, the purpose of this work was to develop and apply gaming methods in teaching the basics of chemical toxicology as part of environmental education of schoolchildren.

Stress signals of water scavenger beetles Berosus frontifoveatus Kuwert, 1888 and Berosus spinosus Steven, 1808 (Coleoptera: Hydrophilidae)

The study of acoustic signals from various representatives of insects, and in particular coleopterans, has a long history. In the Russian-language literature, systematic, faunistic and ecological studies on aquatic beetles, including those on the family Hydrophilidae, are widely known; however, studies on the bioacoustics of the coleopteran group are quite rare. The aim of our study was to study stress signals of two species of Hydrophilidae – Berosus frontifoveatus Kuwert, 1888 and Berosus spinosus Steven, 1808.

Water Buttercups in Herbarium of Saratov State University (SARAT, SARP)

Labels of specimens of genus Batrachium in Herbarium of Saratov State University (SARAT, SARP) are given. Comments to determination of some species of this genus are given.

Biological Properties of Bacteria-assiociants (Myzus cerasi F., 1775) (Insecta: Homoptera, Aphididae)Biological Properties of Bacteria-assiociants (Myzus cerasi F., 1775) (Insecta: Homoptera, Aphididae)

The biological properties of bacteria-assiociants Myzus cerasi F. in territory of the Saratov region weree studied. 39 strains of bacteria were revealed. 66.6% of the strains were able to use glucose, 87.0% – fixed molecular nitrogen, 56.3% – had the ability to grow at 10 °C, 92.1% of the isolated cultures were alkalotolerant and grown at pH10.

The Genus Alchemilla L. (Rosaceae) in the Flora of Chuvashia

In the flora of the Chuvash Republic, 40 species of the genus are revealed. 11 of these (A. altaica, А. argutiserrata, A. barbulata, A. cheirochlora, A. exilis, A. gibberulosa, A. hebescens, A. oxyodonta, A. plicata, A. sibirica, A. vorotnikovii) are registered in the Republic for the first time. Earlier, two species (A. pustynensis Czkalov and A. obtusa auct. non Buser) were noted here erroneously. Species are revealed whose richness corresponds to the level seen in neighbouring regions and approaches the maximum possible.

Vegetation of the natural monument “Urochishche Kuzilinka” and its surroundings (Orel region)

The article describes the calciphytic steppe communities located in the territory of the natural monument “Urochische Kuzilinka” and its surroundings (Orel region). The communities were assigned to the association Onosmato simplicissimae–Salvietum nutantis Averinova ass. nov. That unit was included in the sub-union Bupleuro falcati–Gypsophilenion altissimae Averinova 2005 (union Festucion valesiacae Klika 1931, order Festucetalia valesiacae Soo 1947, class Festuco–Brometea Br.-Bl. et Tx. ex Soo 1947) on the basis of a diagnostic species analysis.

Saiga Diet (Saiga Tatarica L.) on Different Types of Pastures Caspian Lowlands

Studied the power of saiga in the Caspian lowland in June 2011. Mikrogistologichesky cuticularscatological analysis of undigested food residues revealed a specific and quantitative differences in the diet of animals on two types of pasture. Analysis of feeds and their digestibility revealed optimal habitat for the saiga.

Protected Vascular Plants of the Nature Sanctuary «Burkinsky the Wood»

Results of research of flora of a nature sanctuary are given in this article «the Burkinsky wood». 31 types of the protected vascular plants included in the Red book of the Saratov region are revealed. The taksonomichesky, biomorphological and ekologo-tsenotichesky analysis of rare species is carried out. Paths of use of types of a nature sanctuary are defined.
