ESTIMATION OF FIBER-FORMING ABILITY OF CHITOSAN BY PHYSICOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF ITS SOLUTIONS

The paper discusses the results of studying the physicochemical properties of a concentrated acetic-acid solution of chitosan with a stabilized agent added (0.05% of the solution weight), which enables a high fiber-forming ability of the polymer to be revealed. The process of fiber formation from chitosan solution under the action of an electric high-intense field was estimated qualitatively and quantitatively. Chitosan fibers with an average diameter of 280 nm have been obtained, their size-distribution function has been plotted.

Исследованы реологические, электрохимические и поверхност-
ные свойства растворов хитозана в уксусной кислоте в зависи-
мости от молекулярной массы образца, концентрации полимера
и уксусной кислоты в растворе. Обнаружено изменение вязкости,
степени структурирования и характера кривых течения раство-
ров при выдерживании их во времени. На стабильность вязкост-
ных свойств существенное влияние оказывают концентрация и

The Influence of the Composition of Subphase and External Conditions on the Formation and Properties of Langmuir Monolayer

The specifity of the formation of arachinic acid monolayers (used as models of cell membranes) by the Langmuir method on a subphase containing L-ascorbic and D-isoascorbic acids with a concentration of 10-2, 10-3 M at a temperature of 25, 37 and 41°C was studied. The influence of the isoforms of ascorbic acid, the composition and temperature of the subphase on the mechanical properties of monolayers (specific area, compressibility, collapse pressure) was experimentally found.
