Fauna and biotope distribution of mites (Acari: Mesostigmata) from nest of the sand martin (Riparia riparia (Linnaeus, 1758)) in the territory of the Saratov oblast

The basis for the article was entomological collections from the nests of the sand martins (Riparia riparia (Linnaeus, 1758)) collected in the Saratov oblast in 2019–2022. A total of 12 colonies were examined in the Voskresensky, Krasnoarmeysky, Lysogorsky, Rivne, Engelssky and Khvalynsky districts of the Saratov oblast, as well as in the city of Saratov. Gamasid mites were collected using a Tullgren funnel for two to three hours and then identifi ed. In each of the studied colonies, a soil section was laid and its morphological description was carried out.

Acid extraction of radionuclides from soil samples using autoclave decomposition

The specifi cs of the nuclear tests carried out on the territory of the former Semipalatinsk test site (STS) led to the emergence of various sites that diff er in levels of radioactive contamination and radionuclide composition. This also led to a signifi cant diff erence in the solubility of radioactive particles.

Determination of the Contents of Arsenic, Mercury, Copper, Nickel and Zinc in the Soil and Ventilating Emissions by Method of Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (AAS)

The method of atomic absorbing spectrometry (AAS) determined the content of mobile forms of copper, nickel and zinc, and total content of mercury and arsenic in the soil samples selected in a residential zone Samara, and copper in the ventilating emissions. For soils the sample preparation stage contribution to the general error of analytical definition is estimated. For ensuring correctness definition of the content of copper in the ventilating emissions the correction coefficient cons idering existence of a systematic mistake is calculated.

Properties, Soil Degradation and Fitotoxicity of Starch Composites with Polyvinyl Alcohol

Composite films were obtained from a mixture of starch, polyvinyl alcohol, and a plasticizing additive based on aspartic acid. The surface morphology, structural features of the composites, and their behavior in a polythermic mode were studied by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, IR spectroscopy, differential thermal and thermogravimetric analysis. Only carbon dioxide was detected in the gaseous products of thermal decomposition of the samples. The sorption and physico-mechanical properties of our composite films were analyzed.

To the Question of the Suitability of Soils Territory the Educational Centre «Botanical Garden» of Saratov State University for Growing Hybrid Gladiolus

The hybrid gladiolus occupies one of the leading places among the huge number of perennial plants thanks to its decorative qualities and the timing of flowering. In order to select a site for the cultivation of gladiolus it is necessary to consider its requirements for agrochemical soil condition. The analysis was made of the soil territory the Educational Centre «Botanical Garden» of Saratov State University, which is used for the cultivation of corms gladioli.
