Modification of solid-phase polymeric surface by means of grafting of acrylic monomers

Graft copolymerization onto a solid polymer surface is an eff ective tool for its modifi cation. A large number of works have been published and require systematization. A search and review of English-language scientifi c literature devoted to the graft copolymerization of acrylic monomers onto a polymeric solid-phase surface have been carried out. Grafting onto plates and fi lms, as well as fi bers and colloidal particles, is considered.

Grafting of acrylic monomers onto polyethylene surface (review)

A search and review of English-language scientifi c literature about the graft copolymerization of acrylic monomers onto a solid-phase polymeric surface has been carried out. Grafting onto plates and fi lms of high- and low-density polyethylene is considered. The monomers used were acrylic and methacrylic acids, glycidyl acrylate and glycidyl methacrylate, etc., and the main method was UV photopolymerization with an initiator – benzophenone, etc.

Atomic Force Microscopy Study of the Surface of Films of Chitosan and Its Salts with Organic Acids

The results of the study of the morphology and surface topography of chitosan films of the salt (S-) and basic (B-) chemical form by atomic force microscopy are presented. The films were cast from polymer solutions in acetic, lactic, citric and succinic acid. NaOH and triethanolamine were used for the salt > chitosan base reaction. Surface tomograms were obtained; the main morphological characteristics and roughness parameters of the film samples were estimated.
