spatial distribution

The spatial distribution of corvid nests in the urbanized environmental components (using the example of the Kirovsky district of Saratov)

. This study is dedicated to the nest placement peculiarities of four species of the Corvidae family: the Jackdaw, Rook, Hooded Crow, and Eurasian Magpie – in the urbanized environmental components on the territory of the Kirovsky district of Saratov.

Structure of Colonies and Nesting Peculiarities of Common Starling (Sturnus vulgaris) and Tree Sparrow (Passer montanus) in Green Zone of Engels City

We researched the nesting habits of the common starling and the tree sparrow in a woodland of Engels city altered by humans, the Saratov region. Birds’ selectivity in the choice of nesting holes was found. The way birds use nesting trees in different vital condition was researched. The estimation of spatial distribution of nests was made by the method called “the nearest neighbor”.

Peculiarities of Spatial Distribution of the Bottom Fauna in the River Kan (Tributary of the Middle Yenisei, Krasnoyarsk Region)

In the rivers of the Yenisei basin, benthic invertebrates play a major role in feeding most valuable Siberian fish species. This report presents advanced material on zoobenthos of the river Kan (one of the major tributaries of the Yenisei in its middle course). Litho-psammo-rheophilic biocenosis of benthic invertebrates was the most developed, 99 species and forms were recorded there. The total number of zoobenthos was formed from mayflies, caddisflies and chironomids; biomass – from caddisflies and mayflies.
