Synthesis of Monodisperse Magnetite: The Effect of Temperature, Sodium Hydroxide and Citric Acid Concentrations on the Size of Nanoparticles

The effect of temperature, sodium hydroxide and citric acid concentrations on the size of magnetic magnetite nanoparticles was studied. Optimal conditions for synthesis of magnetite stabilized by citric acid with narrow size distribution were found. The average size of the nanoparticles determined by dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy 12 ± 3 and 6 ± 2 nm, respectively was established. The chemical composition and structure of magnetite nanoparticles was confirmed by X-ray diffraction method.

Synthesis and Functionalization of Magnetite Мagnetic Nanoparticles with Сhitosan

Superparamagnetic magnetite nanoparticles (MNP) have gained much attraction from the beginning of 21century because of its potential applications in biology, medicine, theranostics, physics, chemistry and chemical analysis due to unique multifunctional properties, including small size, superparamagnetic behavior, low toxicity, high adsorption properties used for magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) in water purification and chemical analysis.

Chromatographical Analysis of Meldonium with Preliminary Concentration by Solid-Phase Extraction on Magnetite Nanoparticles

A comprehensive method for meldonium analysis, based on a combination of magnetic solid-phase concentration of the analyte on magnetite nanoparticles modified with cetylammonium bromide (CTAB) cations and its subsequent analysis by thin-layer chromatography (TLC) were developed in the process of study. The influence of a number of factors on meldonium sorption was studied, namely: pH, sorbent mass, sorption and mixing times; optimal extraction conditions were determined.
