Представлены материалы по изучению биологического разнообразия беспозвоночных и позвоночных животных природных комплексов Саратовской области за длительный период изучения (с середины ХХ в.) и сделан обобщенный анализ современного состояния биологического разнообразия региона. В различных экосистемах и биотопах области зарегистрировано 12512 видов беспозвоночных, среди которых наиболее многочисленной группой являются Насекомые (около 12000 видов), Паукообразные (свыше 300), Ракообразные (около 100).

Rare and disappearing species Cephalaspidomorphi and fich to be included into the third edition of Red Book of the Saratov region has been compiled on the basis of modern field surveys, collection data, analysis of literature. It contains 2 species cephalaspidomorphi and 16 species fich.

Dynamics and current state of cyclostomes and fish fauna of Saratov region is analyzed, on the basis of modern field research, collectible information and literature data. As a result of regulation of large and small rivers of the region, a significant restructuring of their ichthyocenoses took place. The overall index of changes in the species composition of the ichthyofauna was 49%, the final list (at the end of the observations) was 42%, and the index of intrapopulation changes was 51%.
