Taxonomic and functional characteristics of the microbiota of eggplant plants (Solanum melongena L., 1753) grown in the Saratov region

Eggplant, or dark-fruited nightshade (Solanum melongena L., 1753), is an important agricultural crop, for which the use of biopreparations based on antagonist microorganisms is advisable. The success of introducing such strains into an agrocenosis is largely determined by their interaction with the host plant’s autochthonous microbial community, which can vary significantly across regions. This study analyzed the microbiota structure of eggplant plants grown in the Saratov region. One hundred healthy leaf samples were microbiologically analyzed.

Microbial Ecological Systems of Aphis Pomi Deg. in Saratov Region

Microbial ecological systems of Aphis pomi Deg. digestive tract in territory of the Saratov region was studied. 23 bacteria species belonging to 15 genera was revealed. Curtobacterium flacumfaciens causing diseases at plants was among them.

Associative Microorganisms Shoots Apple Tree (Malus P. Mill, 1754) in Saratov Region

Species composition, quantitative indicators and the occurrence of bacteria and fungi associated with apple shoots in the Saratov region were studied. On the surface shoots isolated 12 species of bacteria, and 4 species of fungi, of the internal environment – 14 species of bacteria and 3 species of fungi. The most common surface associates apple shoots appeared bacterium Bacillus subtilis, Pantoea agglomerans, fungus Alternaria sp. and Fusarium tricinctum, internal environment shoots – Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Penicillium sp.

The Influence of Culture Conditions on Production of Exopolysaccharide of Streptococcus Thermophilus

Isolated exopolysaccharide Streptococcus thermophilus. The conditions for the cultivation of bacteria for the maximum yield of the exopolysaccharide were selected. The bacterial culture of S. thermophilus was incubated for 48 hours in a liquid nutrient medium A. Welman at 38 °C, 180 rpm. on a thermostated shaker-incubator. As a source of carbon were used: sucrose, lactose and glucose. For the production of exopolysaccharide, the best source of carbon was sucrose. Isolation of the exopolysaccharide was carried out according to the J. Cerning method in our modification.
