Scientific heritage of professor V. S. Tyrnov. On his 85th birthday anniversary

The article is a brief overview of the scientifi c heritage of professor V. S. Tyrnov (1941–2015). He was a one of the leading scientists in the fi eld of biology and genetics of plant reproduction. His research has made a signifi cant contribution to the understanding of reasons for and mechanisms of haploidy. V. S. Tyrnov was an author of original haploid production technologies in vivo and in vitro. He created a unique corn lines with heritable and non-heritable (induced) forms of parthenogenesis.

НАУЧНОЕ НАСЛЕДИЕ ПРОФЕССОРА В. С. ТЫРНОВА (К 85-ЛЕТИЮ СО ДНЯ РОЖДЕНИЯ)

В статье приводится краткий обзор научного наследия профессора В.С. Тырнова (1941–2015) – одного из ведущих специалистов в области биологии и генетики систем репродукции растений. Его исследования внесли весомый вклад в развитие представлений о закономерностях и механизмах гаплоидии. Им разработан ряд оригинальных технологий получения гаплоидных растений в условиях in vivo и in vitro, созданы уникальные линии кукурузы с наследуемой и ненаследуемой (индуцированной) формами партеногенеза.

In memory of Anastasiya Andreevna Chiguryaeva. On her 120th anniversary

On December 31, 2025, it was 120 years since the birth of professor A. A. Chiguryaeva (1905–1987), a Doctor of Biological Sciences and Professor – a renowned scientist who made signifi cant contributions to the development of Palaeopalynology in Russia. From 1961, A. A. Chiguryaeva headed the Department of Plant Morphology and Systematics at Saratov State University and also established and led a Palynological Laboratory. Her primary scientifi c focus was on the study of fl ora and vegetation in the Southeast of the European part of the USSR.

February 13, 2025 marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Vladimir V.

The history of the formation and development of microbiology at Saratov State University

The review presents the origins of the study of microbiology at the Saratov State University, the formation and development from the establishment of the Department of Microbiology at Saratov University in 1918 under the leadership of Alexei Ilyich Berdnikov to the educational and scientifi c-practical activities of the Department of Microbiology and Plant Physiology at the present time.

Professor A. A. Richter scientific and pedagogical activity in Saratov (150th anniversary of Academician Andrey Alexandrovich Richter)

The year of 2021 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Andrey Alexandrovich Richter, a prominent scientist, botanist and plant physiologist (August 15, 1871), who worked for a number of years at Saratov University (1924–1931), then moved on to the Academy of Sciences (Corresponding Member in 1929, Member since 1932). He was the organizer and the fi rst director of the Institute of Plant Physiology of the Academy of Sciences (IPR RAS). A. A.

Elena G. Kulapina — Doctor of Chemistry, Professor, Honorary Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation, Laureate of the Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, Professor of the Department of Analytical Chemistry and Chemical Ecology of Saratov National Research State University named after N. G. Chernyshevsky (SSU). Elena Grigoryevna is a well-known scientist and analyst, who is actively working in the field of scientific developments and the practical application of potentiometric sensors in the analysis of organic compounds.
