Colormetric system for monitoring the growth of microalgae Dunaliella salina under laboratory conditions

The brackish microalgae Dunaliella salina, being an extremophilic halophyte, is a promising object for biotechnological production. The aim of this work is to develop a methodology for non-destructive control of the development of a microalgae culture under conditions of balanced growth during periodic cultivation on plates. Before the start of the experiment, the microalgae culture was synchronized. The quantitative content of chlorophylls a and b, as well as carotenoids, was determined spectrophotometrically in alcohol extracts.

Molecular mechanisms of the opening of the blood-brain barrier in rodents by means of sound

In this study, in experiments on 35 healthy male mice of the C57BL/6 line weighing 25±3 g, it was shown that loud sound/music for 2 hours causes a temporary increase in the permeability of the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in rodents. To investigate changes in the permeability of the blood-brain barrier, the molecular mechanisms responsible for its discovery were investigated using laser speckle-contrast imaging of regional cerebral blood fl ow (rCBF), immunohistochemical analysis and biochemical analysis of adrenaline in blood plasma.

Gold nanostars as a photoagent under the antimicrobial action of infrared (808 nm) laser radiation

Gold nanostars with an average core diameter of 122,2 nm and a spike length of 114,6 nm were synthesized and characterized at a concentration of 5,36×1010 pcs/ml with an absorption maximum of 840 nm. Gold nanostars were coated with thiolated polyethylene glycol, its amount was about 8×104 molecules per 1 particle and about 4,4×1015 molecules/ml in the colloid. The zeta potential of gold nanostars coated with PEG-SH was −2.3 mV.

Study of patterns of accumulation of the most dangerous ecotoxicants in wild medicinal plant raw materials of various ecotopes of the Voronezh region

Voronezh region is one of the most important areas of agriculture and crop production. The purpose of the study was to study the patterns of accumulation of the most dangerous heavy metals in wild medicinal plant raw materials of various ecotopes of the Voronezh region. The accumulation of heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, nickel, copper, zinc, cobalt, chromium) and arsenic was studied, using an example of 10 types of medicinal plant raw materials, which were produced in 51 ecotopes of the Voronezh region.

АГРОТЕХНИЧЕСКАЯ И БИОЛОГИЧЕСКАЯ ЦЕННОСТЬ ЧИНЫ ПОСЕВНОЙ (LATHYRUS SATIVUS L.), КАК ПИЩЕВОЙ И КОРМОВОЙ КУЛЬТУРЫ (ОБЗОР)

Статья посвящена обзору направлений использования одной из древнейших окультуренных растений – чины посевной. Чина посевная традиционно выращивается на пищевые цели в южных странах с аридным климатом или в засушливый период. В силу своих биологических особенностей чина посевная способна занять в сельском хозяйстве Российской Федерации агроэкологическую нишу на территориях с недостаточным увлажнением между агрономическими ареалами выращивания гороха и нута.

Сравнительная характеристика записывающих устройств для вибрационных сигналов на примере Heterocerus fenestratus (Thunberg, 1784) (Coleoptera: Heteroceridae)

В русскоязычной литературе достаточно широко известны работы по вибрационной коммуникации для Orthoptera и Hemiptera. В основном для записи данной коммуникации используют пьезоэлектрический адаптер ГЗК-661 или электромагнитный преобразователь ГЗМ-105. Использование данных устройств не дают удовлетворительных результатов при записи насекомых меньше 1 см.

THE FORMATION OF "PATERNAL-CHILDISH" LINKS AMONG SAIGA

The authors analyzes the formation of «Paternal-childish» links among Saigas. In this woks the author describes the first female saiga licking her half-born calf. As a result, due to licking establishes contact and enhance the ties between mother and newborn calf. The author concludes that female saiga could be attributed to the active mother type as well as female eland antelope.

THE COMPARATIVE CHARACTERISTIC OF ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF SELENOORGANIC COMPOUNDS ON CLINICAL STRAINS OF STAPHYLOCOCCUS AUREUS

Antibacterial activity of diacetophenonylselinide (a compound 1) and its nitroderivative (a compound 2) on ten clinical strains of Staphylococcus aureus is studied. Much higher antibacterial activity of the compound 2 which in concentration of 0,01 mg/ml at various time of influence causes destruction of 10,6-69,2 % of bacterial cells in comparison with the control is found out.

FREQUENCY OF APOMIXIS BEI SOME ARTEMISIA SPECIES FROM SARATOV REGION (ASTERACEAE)

We have studied the characteristics of seed reproduction Artemisia 14 species from various parts of the Saratov region. It is shown that a population of five of them (A. vulgaris, A. salsaloides, A. dracunculus, A. glauca, A. austriaca) are characterized by high (at least 20-30%) frequency of gametophytic apomixis in plants, and three species (A. abrotanum, A. absinthium, A. armenica) have lower (10-15%) frequency of gametophytic apomixis.

ANALYSIS OF STRESS-INDUCED CHANGES IN THE DYNAMICS OF BLOOD PRESSURE IN WHITE RATS ON THE BASIS OF MULTIFRACTAL CONCEPT

We revealed that females compared with males demonstrated more favorable pattern of cardiovascular responses to stress. Actually, in females the chronotropic effects of stress were more pronounced, while the pressor effects were weakened compared with males. Hemodynamic parameters in females returned to normal more rapidly than in males. In addition to physiological characteristics, applications of multifractal analysis allowed us to reveal both, individual and gender distinctions in the stress-induced reactions of the cardiovascular system.
